Growing up in Brussels, I was deeply inspired by frequent family trips to Morocco, where the vibrant energy and exquisite handcrafted items sparked my love for unique design.
From Dreamy Destinations to Refined Homes
Over the years, living in places like San Diego, Barcelona, Paris, Los Angeles, and now Costa Rica, I’ve been immersed in diverse cultures and styles, each leaving a lasting impression on my aesthetic. These experiences fueled my passion for unique, handmade pieces and deepened my desire to be part of the creative world.
During the pandemic, I reignited this passion by designing my own apartment in Brussels, all the way from my bungalow in Los Angeles. The thrill of bringing that vision to life was a turning point, inspiring me to pursue interior design full-time.
Moving to Costa Rica brought even more inspiration
The stunning landscapes and charming homes here sparked endless ideas, leading to the creation of the shop.

The Origin of Our Name -
At CARA* Dear One every project begins with a story close to the heart
The name "cara" was first an idea for my future dog, as I wanted something that reflected love. In the end, I chose a different name for my dog, but "cara," meaning "dear one," resonated deeply with me.
It became the perfect name for my brand, representing the love and personal connection I strive to infuse into every space I design.
